Board Minutes February Meeting

FAIRFIELD BAY COMMUNITY CLUB

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

FEBRUARY 27, 2018

 

 

The Regular Meeting of the Fairfield Bay Community Club Board of Directors was held on Thursday, February 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room of the Indian Hills Complex.

Directors attending: President Jack Weeks, Bill Fisher, Doug Forsman, Dave Foster, Nancy Mueller, and Rose Shurts. Lacey Mitchell was absent.

Rocky Nickles, General Manager and Tommy Hoffman, Chief Financial Officer, were also in attendance.

There were five guests and six managers in attendance.

Jack Weeks, President led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer.

18-14 Motion was made by Dave Foster, seconded by, Rose Shurts, and unanimously carried to accept the Regular Minutes of January 23, 2018, as presented.

18-15 Motion was made by Doug Forsman, seconded by Rose Shurts, and unanimously carried to accept the E-mail Survey minutes of February 8, 2018, as presented.

Tommy Hoffman, Chief Financial Officer, gave the financial report. 18-16 Motion was made by Doug Forsman, seconded by Nancy Mueller, and unanimously carried to accept the financial report, as presented.

Jack Weeks, President, asked that a request be placed in the Lake Area Weekly for volunteers to help with a Poker Run planned for later in the year.

Rose Shurts was contacted by an owner about the tree limbs and fallen trees on the property. Mr. Nickles said since the logger did not follow thru the Utilities Department will begin cleaning up the storm damage. The first area to be addressed will be Dave Creek Parkway and then they will proceed to other areas. They will clear the right of ways of trees, and will lay down other trees and leave them in the wooded areas.

There was no report for Team 2035.

Dave Foster stated the Community Foundation will be holding a spaghetti dinner soon at the Conference Center to raise funds for the foundation.

The Club is building three billboards to be placed on Highway 65 North, near Best Western in Clinton, and one across from the New Road on Highway 16. Plans are to have them up and functional by May 1, 2018.

Sharon Boone informed the Board of the five individuals who have agreed to serve on the 2018 Board of Directors Election Committee.

Jeff Gannon with Foothills Trail Alliance Lines met with the Board earlier and is interested in building bike trails. The Board requested he map out a plan and bring before the Board for approval. 18-17 Motion was made by Bill Fisher, seconded by Rose Shurts, and unanimously carried to give Rocky Nickles authorization to work with the bike group.

Sewer and garbage collections were discussed during manager reports.

A Recreation capital expenditure was presented for remodeling the Recreation Office, chairs and tables for the Cool Pool, sealing concrete at Bay View Club Pool, repairs at Mt. Ranch Pool and Hamilton Cove Pool, and improvements to Woodland Mead Park at the classic course.

18-18 Motion was made by Bill Fisher, seconded by Doug Forsman, and unanimously carried to approve the expenditure of $33,000. Mr. Nickles stated a report will be provided to the Board as the money is spent.

18-19 Motion was made by Rose Shurts, seconded by Doug Forsman, and unanimously carried to approve the purchase of software for the mechanic at the Marina at a cost of $6,660.

18-20 Motion was made by Bill Fisher, seconded by Rose Shurts, and unanimously carried to approve the purchase of 12 winches for the marina at a cost of $6,601.

Rocky Nickles reported the Club needs to purchase four walkway extensions for the Marina. An e-mail will be sent out next week to the Board requesting approval for the capital expenditure for approximately $14,000.

Rose Shurts left the meeting.

18-21 There being no further business to bring before the Board, a motion was made by Doug Forsman, seconded by Bill Fisher, and unanimously carried to adjourn.
