Board of Directors Meeting Minutes September 27, 2016

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SEPTEMBER 27, 2016

 

The Regular Meeting of the Fairfield Bay Community Club Board of Directors was held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Indian Hills Complex.

Directors attending: President Jack Weeks, Bill Fisher, Dave Foster, Terri Hargrove, Ken Schuette, and Rose Shurts. Lacey Mitchell was absent.

Rocky Nickles, General Manager, was also in attendance.

There were nine managers, and six guests attending the meeting.

16-104 Motion was made by Bill Fisher, seconded by Rose Shurts, and unanimously carried to accept the Regular Minutes of August 23, 2016, as presented.

The Financial report was given by Tommy Hoffman, Chief Financial Officer.

The Manager Reports were given.

It was reported the City is considering employing the company, who completed   the hotel feasibility study, to search for an investor.

The Board discussed delaying of Mt. Ranch Pool closing to September 30 each year.

Mr. Nickles reported Little Red Restaurant will be open for lunch only in December, 2016, January and February, 2017, and will be open for dinner only on Friday and Saturday nights.

There were no contacts by owners.

It was reported the Idea Incubator Team is planning to have a Halloween trunk or treat and a bounce house at Woodland Mead Park. The Club Recreation Department is also planning Halloween fun at the Park. The Idea Incubator Team is talking with a sky diving group, working with John Ingram for 3 D archery, and looking at helicopter rides.

Dave Foster reported for Team 2035 and said he, Don Bailey and Mike Doyle are working on a plan of action to move Fairfield Bay forward. Hopefully a draft will be prepared by the first Tuesday in October.

It was reported Kenneth Goodwin, SkyFiNet, will be sending a proposal to the Board.  He will e-mail Plan A and Plan B – Plan A would include Club participation and project would be completed by August 2017. Plan B is if the Club chooses not to participate, he will continue with the project with no date set for completion.

Additional information has been requested by the Arkansas Parks and Tourism Department concerning the grant for Pickle Ball and Bocce Ball.

16-105 Motion was made by Dave Foster, seconded by Bill Fisher, and unanimously carried that any MAWD Development (Osage Point) property adjoining Fairfield Bay Community Club common property will have a 7.5 foot utility easement on the Fairfield Bay Community Club common property side.

The approval of the Wastewater Long Range Plan was tabled until the October Regular meeting.

The Board discussed the appearance of the main entrance. It was the consensus of the Board that it needs an update.  Ken Schuette suggested Ken Levy, Director, Architectural, with Cromwell Architect Engineers be contacted. 16-106 A motion was made by Rose Shurts, seconded by Bill Fisher, and unanimously carried to have Mr. Nickles make this contact. Mike Doyle suggested the Kellogg Foundation be contacted regarding a grant.

There was a discussion of the golf rates being charged the volunteer EMT’s and Firemen. These rates will be addressed during the budget process.

16-107 There being no further business to bring before the Board, a motion was made by Rose Shurts, seconded by Bill Fisher, and unanimously carried to adjourn.
