BOATI GRAS 2016 Come join Saturday August 6 for an event of fun, food, and silliness on the dock of Fairfield Bay Marina. Mardi Gras comes to Greers Ferry Lake. Decorate your boat in New Orleans style Mardi Gras finery and come join the fun. The Boati Gras officially starts at 5 PM with participants and spectators gathered on the docks for the pomp (?) and opening ceremonies. Boaters leave the dock at 6 PM parade for approximately an hour and return to the dock for music, food and awards.

Boati Gras Royalty: King – Dan Feuer Town Crier – Doug Landry
The Town Crier will recognize the 2016 King of Krewe Jesters. Cheers will ring out for The King followed by a second line band. Following The King’s Proclamation, the crowd and dancers will join a New Orleans style marching parade around the dock waving traditional Kleenex and tooting their kazoos. The King then leads his subjects to their boats. The parade will start promptly start at 6 PM. The boats will make two passes by the judges and parade for 1 hour. At 7PM The King welcomes his subjects back to the dock, trophies will be awarded in 16 categories, Crescent City Combo performing Cajun music, tasty Cajun food will be served.
